How it Works
Apply
Fill out the Therapy Dog application. We will contact you within 48 hours to schedule a phone interview. After the phone interview, we want to meet you and your family in person! This can be done in your home or in our training room.

Acceptance
If you are accepted in to the Therapy Dog program, we will temperament test and select a puppy for you to bring through the program. We work with Labrador and Golden Retriever breeders as well as Standard Poodle breeders. Litters are typically available for testing in the spring and fall.

Training
Once we have selected a puppy for you, you will bring the pup through our training program. The program consists of group classes and private lessons to address all your needs as a therapy dog team. This training process takes 1-2 years.

Therapy Dog Test
At the end the training program, you will take the Therapy Dogs United test. Once you pass this test, you have officially graduated The Right Paw Therapy Dog Program, congratulations! Our program offers lifetime training support, so you can keep your skills sharp!
